Service Description

Yamuna Body Rolling YBR® (the name commonly used) is a revolutionary fitness and therapy system that combines healing, wellness and injury prevention. Increasing body awareness. It uses 4 to 10 inch specially designed balls to release and elongate muscles, improving posture and breaking old tension patterns that restrict movement. Unlike some other rolling or stretching exercises, YBR goes far beyond random movement and stretch. We work all muscle connections from the bone/tendon attachments through the fascial connections- lengthening each area from the tailbone to the skull, the collarbone through the shoulder, and the buttocks through the calf muscles. It allows you to work specific muscles in detail, to create suppleness in tight areas and optimize range of motion in the joints. YBR also reeducates muscles and stimulates bone, creating positive, permanent changes in the body. You will feel relaxed and invigorated, enhancing performance in any sport or fitness program. YBR® organizes the body bringing all the parts back to working the way they should and can be. It is commonly accepted that as you get older, you get stiffer and lose mobility and can no longer do the things we want to do. But, with YBR, you focus your stretching and go deeper into the fascial connections so you can create more freedom of movement in the muscles and liberate your joints. In a Yamuna® Body Rolling class one learns to work on each part of the body, rolling the fascial connections with the appropriate ball (size and firmness). It is a very powerful stretching tool that almost anyone can do regardless of age. However, for this class, you cannot have any restrictions that would prevent you from getting down on the floor- similar to a yoga class, Also, any weight bearing ball rolling on the spine is not suggested for anyone with Osteoporosis. In a one hour class, we will focus on a few areas to get the most benefit. Then, if you have the balls at home, you can use what you learned to continue your stretching routine each day and get even more benefit. Consistency is the key to getting results.
